Four goals by 2030

To guide the way towards our vision and set the direction for the investments needed, we have formulated four goals to achieve by 2030:

  • Sweden is among the top 3 in innovation rankings for the food sector in Europe;

  • there are 50 new food innovations with a combined turnover of at least one billion euros;

  • the food sector has created at least 50,000 new jobs in Sweden; and

  • the food sector’s export share has increased to 50 percent.

The goals are ambitious, but highly realistic and possible to achieve by the set deadline. To succeed, we need to collaborate with several sectors of society – government, academia/institutions, sources of research funding, and other agencies. We also need to clearly invest in innovation and research in the food sector.

5 missions – what we want

The missions are distinct assignments which we have given ourselves to realise our goals while contributing to the achievement of global objectives and the goals of the Swedish food strategy. The purpose of these missions is to formulate needs and provide guidance for the research and innovation investments we call for. All of Sweden Food Arena’s missions are linked to one or more of the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals.
